Leiria shopping guide

I also wanted to create some kind of shopping guide in the city of Leiria. Of course there are loads of options available in terms of shopping and once again there is something for everyone but I want to introduce some of the well-known places that I have visited so far during my stay.

This is the most well-known place for sure. I think that the mall was built in 2009 so it is quite a new one. It started operating with just the Continente supermarket but is now filled with different kind of shops, cafes, places to eat and also a movie theater. This place is located next to the ESTG where I currently work so I am visiting the place quite often.

Sadly it is forbidden to take photos from the inside so I’m not even bothering to try that. I usually visit places like Sport Zone and the Continente supermarket which are in the first floor. In the second floor you have those restaurants where you can find for example burgers, sushi and pizza.

Maringá

maringa

Maringá is an older shopping mall located in centre of the city of Leiria. This shopping mall has two floors and 3500 square meters of sales area. The shops in here are more traditional and small ones and it’s quite an old-fashioned place I think. The amount of different kind of shops is good and even if you are not going to buy anything it still is one of those places to see in the city.

Here’s the location on map:

Sports Direct

Sports Direct is the one webstore in the world I would name if I had to name just one. I was a bit amazed to learn that Leiria also has its own Sports Direct in the city and this was absolutely something that I wanted to check out…

Sports Direct isn’t just about the sports: it also offers more casual type of clothing and especially the British online shop is really really cheap. They have all the big brands and also some quality cheaper ones.

Sports Direct of Leiria is a Sports Direct alright. It’s not as cheap as the British online one but the brands were the same and pricing is generally okay. I didn’t buy anything on my first visit but after brief browsing I could easily have bought.

Shoes, shirts, shorts, socks… They have basically everything and I definitely recommend to visit this place. Especially if you’re fan of the bigger brands such as Nike and Adidas.

Others

That’s all so far. There are of course loads of stores in the centre of the city of Leiria available for everyone but it would be extremely hard to start naming all of these. My advice would be for you to go to the centre of the city and in a small area you can basically find anything you want. It’s a bit same as with the nightlife.

There are also two or three other places like Maringá at the centre of the city but I actually think that these shopping centers are now quite a bit empty and many shops have stopped their functioning.
